The Beyond Base can activate the flight termination through Iridium satellite communication. It fits into the palm of a hand and activates a termination by setting the dial to the selected type of termination and pressing the two buttons (not shown in the rendering).

Beyond Base also allows for monitoring the status and health of the system during use. It is also used for preflight testing.
